About this Painting:

Out to See II is a thickly textured multimedia abstract painting in a palette of white, sage green, indigo blue, pink, and rust.  This painting was painted intuitively, with no plan…each stroke informing the next. The abstract forms derived from my gestural plant cell paintings and evolved to incorporate the color blocking elements from the Gatsby paintings. This piece feels like summer and new beginnings. Thus the double meaning in the name…”out to sea” because of the plaid/madras boating feel of the colors and form. “Out to see” because it represents seeing out a former way of living…being more present, observing and simplifying.  This piece was created as a pair with Out to See.
