About this Painting
Between Us is a multimedia abstract painting in a palette of white, ochre, indigo blue and varying greens. This painting incorporates my gestural watercolor plant cell paintings with color blocking layered on in with acrylic, pastel and gouache. As I created these in the isolated months of quarantine I thought of all the meaningful conversations I’ve had with loved ones during this time. While we’re socially distancing, we are connected more than ever before. This painting speaks to how space between us, has fundamentally changed. This piece was created as a pair with The Conversation.
