About this Painting:

Into the Light is an intimate abstract dreamscape created during the dark Chicago winter of 2021. Using simple shapes, stripes and pops of blue and yellow, the painting incorporates elements of a nautical story. The painting is divided into light and dark, evoking a tension of opposites. Drawing from our uncertain times…coming out of the darkness and into the light. A quiet and mighty piece, with texture and painterly whimsy. The palette is a buff white, terra-cotta, navy, ochre, cobalt blue and varying shades of green. It is nestled in a simple maple float frame.
